On this page

Use a Gates Data Master hose when the inside diameter is one of the sizes on the catalog screen opened October 22, 2026, and the working pressure on that row covers the loop: 500 psi at 7/32 inch, 300 psi from 1/4 inch through 3/4 inch, and 150 psi at 1 inch. Use Data Master MegaFlex when the inside diameter is 1.25, 1.5, 2, 3, or 4 inch. The MegaFlex spec sheet prints 150 psi working pressure on each of those sizes, a minimum burst of 600 psi, and a temperature range of -40°F to 212°F (-40°C to 100°C). The 1/2 inch Data Master product page prints the same temperature range for part 42170063, with a minimum burst of 1,200 psi.

Working pressure on the Data Master rows that were on screen

The Data Master catalog page said 1 to 10 of 18 items. The table below is those ten rows, not the eight that were off the first screen. Working pressure is the psi column. The bar column on that table did not match the psi column, including 83 beside 300 psi and 41 beside 150 psi, so bar is left off. Stripe colors on the rows that show them do not change the psi: 3/4 inch is 300 psi for 12DM1000, 12DM1001, and 12DM1002, and 1 inch is 150 psi for 16DM1000, 16DM1001, and 16DM1002.

The 7/32 inch row shows product number 42170059, a description of 7/32DM1000, and a part-number cell of 7/32DM1005. Those two DM codes are both on the row. The request should carry 42170059 plus the inside diameter and 500 psi, and the supplier can confirm which DM string belongs to that product number.

The 1/2 inch product page adds burst, bend, and temperature

Product 42170063, 8DM1000, 1/2 inch by 500 feet, lists inside diameter 0.50 inch (12.7 mm) and outside diameter 0.74 inch (18.7 mm). Minimum bend radius is 1.98 inch (50.2 mm). Vacuum is 28 inches of mercury. Minimum burst pressure is 1,200 psi. Temperature range is -40°F to 212°F (-40°C to 100°C). The tube is zinc-free, peroxide-cured EPDM. The cover is EPDM. The page lists a flame-resistance specification of VW-1. Those figures are this product number. The catalog screen did not repeat bend radius or temperature on the other sizes.

The family description on the Data Master page says the tube can withstand coolant mixes including PG25. PG25 as a Dow fluid name is on the LC 25 and LC 55 page. The hose page does not print a freeze point.

MegaFlex is 150 psi from 1.25 inch through 4 inch

The MegaFlex spec sheet prints working pressure of 150 psi (1 MPa) across the size range, and the size table repeats 150 psi and 1 MPa on every row. A callout on the same sheet prints 150 psi (10.3 bar). The request should name 150 psi, which is the figure in the sentence and in every row. The 1 MPa cell and the 10.3 bar callout are both on the sheet and are not the same conversion, so they are not used as a second working pressure. Minimum burst in the table is 600 psi (4.1 MPa) on every listed size. Temperature range on the sheet is -40°F to 212°F (-40°C to 100°C). The tube is zinc-free, peroxide-cured EPDM.

The MegaFlex catalog page, first screen, also lists 150 psi for 20DM1090 at 1.25 inch, 24DM1090 at 1.5 inch, 32DM1090 at 2 inch, and 48DM1090 at 3 inch. That screen said 1 to 10 of 15 items and did not show the 4 inch row. The spec sheet is the place the 4 inch size and the bend radii come from. The sheet says Data Master hoses are available with a white label for a multipurpose hose, blue for supply, and red for return. Catalog part numbers with blue or red in the description, on both families, did not change the psi on the rows where a plain part and a stripe part were both visible.

Which family matches the inside diameter

A 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch line is on the Data Master screen at 300 psi, not on the MegaFlex size table. A 1 inch line is on the Data Master screen at 150 psi. A 1.25 inch line and larger, through 4 inch, is on the MegaFlex sheet at 150 psi. The 1/2 inch Data Master burst on product 42170063 is 1,200 psi. The MegaFlex burst on the sheet is 600 psi. Those bursts belong to the parts that print them. The hose assembly page asks for the hose and the ends. UQD barb size is a separate choice on the UQD size page.

What to copy onto the hose line

  • Family: Data Master or Data Master MegaFlex.
  • Product number from the row, including 42170063 for the 1/2 inch page that prints burst and temperature.
  • Inside diameter and the working pressure on that row.
  • Temperature: -40°F to 212°F for 42170063 and for the MegaFlex sheet. Leave it blank for a Data Master size whose page you have not opened.
  • Stripe or label color: white, blue, or red, from the sheet's supply and return note.
  • Fluid, including LC 25 or LC 55 if that is the coolant.

Copy the product number, the inside diameter, and the working pressure from the row.

This prepares a request. It does not send one.

Questions these Gates pages answer

Is every Data Master hose 300 psi?

On the screen opened October 22, 2026, 7/32 inch is 500 psi, 1/4 inch through 3/4 inch are 300 psi, and 1 inch is 150 psi. The page also said eight items were not on that screen. A size that was not on the screen still needs its own row.

Do Data Master and MegaFlex share a temperature range?

Product 42170063 and the MegaFlex spec sheet both print -40°F to 212°F (-40°C to 100°C). That is two pages, not a temperature printed on every Data Master product number.

Is the burst always four times the working pressure?

On 42170063 the minimum burst is 1,200 psi and the catalog working pressure is 300 psi. On the MegaFlex table the minimum burst is 600 psi and the working pressure is 150 psi. Both of those pairs are four to one. The other Data Master sizes on the first screen showed working pressure and left burst off the row. Burst on this page stays with 42170063 and with the MegaFlex table.

Sources

Data Master psi values are from the catalog table opened October 22, 2026. Burst, bend, vacuum, and temperature for the 1/2 inch hose are from product 42170063. MegaFlex pressure, burst, bend, and temperature are from the MegaFlex spec sheet, checked against the MegaFlex catalog's 150 psi cells where that screen showed them. Bar cells that did not match the psi column were left out.
