Everis LQ4 and LQ6: When the Operating Low Is -40°F
The product pages say 0°F to 240°F. The 2026 spec sheets say the FVMQ option, suffix FLS, extends the operating temperature to -40°F.
On this page
Use the standard operating line, 0°F to 240°F (-17°C to 115°C), when the loop stays inside that range. Use the FLS suffix when the coupling has to operate at -40°F (-40°C). The Everis LQ4 and LQ6 product pages, as of October 21, 2026, print 0°F to 240°F. The 2026 spec sheets print that same operating line and state that the FVMQ seal option extends the operating temperature to -40°F (-40°C). Those sheets name EPDM as the standard seal, the V suffix as FKM, and the FLS suffix as FVMQ. Storage and shipping on the sheets is -40°F to 240°F for the CPC product, which is a different line from operating temperature.
Operating range and storage range
Both 2026 sheets list operating temperature as 0°F to 240°F (-17°C to 115°C), marked with an asterisk. Storage and shipping is -40°F to 240°F (-40°C to 115°C), marked with a double asterisk. The double-asterisk note says the shipping and storage range is specific to the CPC product and does not apply to external packaging or shipping materials. A coupling that is stored at -40°F is inside the storage line. A coupling that must run at -40°F is the FVMQ asterisk, not the storage line.
The asterisk note on both sheets says the FVMQ seal option extends the operating temperature to -40°F (-40°C). The sheets do not print a new high end next to that sentence. The operating high on the main line remains 240°F (115°C) for the range the table titles Operating. Copy the footnote as an extension to -40°F, and keep 240°F as the high end printed on the operating line.
EPDM, V, and FLS
Both sheets say seals are EPDM standard, with FKM and FVMQ as options. The instruction under the termination table says: for the FKM seal option, add a V suffix. The LQ4 example is LQ4D30006BLUV. The LQ6 example is LQ6D17006BLUV. For the FVMQ seal option, add an FLS suffix. The LQ6 example is LQ6D17006BLUFLS. The sheets do not print a separate operating temperature for the V suffix. V changes the seal name to FKM. FLS is the option tied to the -40°F operating note.
The product pages opened the same day list EPDM in the materials table and EPDM in the seal filter. The LQ4 introduction says EPDM and FKM seals are standard options for compatibility with glycol/water or dielectric coolants. The LQ6 introduction says FKM and EPDM seals are standard options for compatibility with dielectric or glycol/water coolants. Neither introduction prints FVMQ or -40°F. A buyer who stops on the product page will see 0°F to 240°F and EPDM. The -40°F operating extension is the spec-sheet footnote.
LQ4 and LQ6 use the same temperature footnote
The temperature block matches across the two 2026 sheets: vacuum to 120 psi (8.3 bar), operating 0°F to 240°F, storage and shipping -40°F to 240°F, and the FVMQ extension to -40°F. Choosing LQ4 or LQ6 is the tube and the nominal flow, covered on the LQ4 and LQ6 series page. The suffix rule does not change with that choice. An LQ4 part and an LQ6 part each take FLS when the operating low is -40°F.
The coupling rating comparison records the LQ6 product-page window of 0°F to 240°F next to UQD windows. It does not carry this FLS footnote. A request that mixes an OCP UQD temperature with an Everis body still has to meet each part's own page. The Everis low end is 0°F unless the part number includes FLS and the sheet's footnote is the one being used.
| What the part number says | Seal the sheet names | Operating line to copy |
|---|---|---|
| No V and no FLS | EPDM, the standard seal in the materials table | 0°F to 240°F (-17°C to 115°C) |
| V suffix, example LQ6D17006BLUV | FKM | The sheets do not print a separate operating range for V |
| FLS suffix, example LQ6D17006BLUFLS | FVMQ | Footnote: extends operating temperature to -40°F (-40°C) |
What the pages say about coolant
The LQ4 sheet says EPDM, FVMQ, and FKM seals are standard options for compatibility with water, glycol, or dielectric coolants. The LQ6 sheet says FKM, FVMQ, and EPDM seals are standard options for compatibility with dielectric or glycol/water coolants. The product-page introductions name EPDM and FKM for glycol/water or dielectric coolants. None of these sentences pairs one seal with one fluid, and none prints a different pressure for each seal. Name the fluid on the request. Name FLS when the operating low is -40°F. The fluid line and the suffix line are both still required.
Both sheets and both product pages warn that pressure, temperature, chemicals, and the operating environment can affect the coupling, and that the customer tests suitability in the application. The suffix rule is the published way to order the -40°F option. It is not a chemical-compatibility test.
What to write next to the part number
- Base series and termination, from the tube size.
- Operating low the loop actually reaches.
- FLS when that low is -40°F. Leave the suffix off when the loop stays at or above 0°F.
- V when the specification calls for FKM and the operating line in use is the 0°F to 240°F line.
- Storage temperature only if the request is about shipping. The sheet's storage line is -40°F to 240°F.
- Fluid, as a separate field from the suffix.
Questions about -40°F
Does the storage line of -40°F mean the coupling can run at -40°F?
The sheets title that line Storage/Shipping. The operating line is 0°F to 240°F unless the FVMQ footnote applies. A part stored at -40°F and then run at 0°F is using both lines as they are titled. A part run at -40°F needs the FLS footnote.
Does the V suffix move the operating low to -40°F?
The sheets tie the -40°F operating extension to the FVMQ option and the FLS suffix. The V suffix is the FKM instruction, and those sheets do not give V its own temperature. Order FLS for the -40°F operating case.
Is the product page enough for a cold loop?
The product pages print 0°F to 240°F and list EPDM in the materials table. They do not print the FLS footnote. For a loop that operates below 0°F, use the 2026 spec sheet and the suffix it names.

The operating line, the storage line, the FVMQ footnote, and the V and FLS examples are from the CPC Everis LQ4 and LQ6 specification sheets, copyright 2026. The product pages confirm the 0°F to 240°F line and the EPDM materials row. All four were opened October 21, 2026.
