TS Conductor is a US-based advanced conductor manufacturer founded in 2018 and headquartered in Erie, MI (with operations previously based in Southern California). The company makes its proprietary Aluminum Encapsulated Carbon Core (AECC) conductor - a next-generation power line technology that replaces the century-old Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced (ACSR) standard, which still accounts for over 95% of utility cables deployed globally. AECC uses a carbon composite core encapsulated in aluminum to deliver dramatically higher ampacity and lower thermal sag, enabling utilities to double or triple the capacity of existing transmission lines simply by reconductoring - with no structural upgrades to towers or poles required. Critically, AECC is fully compatible with existing ACSR installation tools and crew practices, eliminating a major barrier that has stymied previous generations of advanced conductors.

TS Conductor's technology is highly significant for the US energy supply chain at a moment of unprecedented grid stress. Surging electricity demand from AI data centers, electric vehicles, and industrial electrification - combined with the need to integrate more renewable energy - is overwhelming a grid built on 1908-era conductor technology. By enabling 2-3× more capacity on existing rights-of-way without expensive structural rebuilds, TS Conductor offers one of the most capital-efficient paths to grid expansion available today. The company's conductors also reduce transmission line losses by up to 50%, improving overall grid efficiency. Customers including Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), Florida Power & Light, Salt River Project, Basin Electric, and Montana-Dakota Utilities have already deployed the technology across the US.

To meet booming demand, TS Conductor has invested heavily in US manufacturing. The company operates an ISO 9001-certified facility in Southern California and in 2025 announced - and by May 2026 opened - a new $134 million vertically integrated manufacturing facility in Hardeeville, South Carolina, expected to create 460+ jobs and increase production capacity twentyfold. The company is backed by the Department of Energy and marquee climate and infrastructure investors, and its CEO Jason Huang was featured in a 2024/2025 TED Talk on modernizing the power grid.
