Plural Energy
Plural Energy (operating as Plural Finance, legal entity Plural Everything, Inc.) is a San Francisco-based infrastructure finance platform that tokenizes energy and infrastructure assets using a blockchain-powered system called AssetOS. Founded in 2024 and publicly launched at the Ethereum Community Conference in July 2024, the company enables fractional ownership of capital-intensive infrastructure - including distributed renewable energy, data centers, microgrids, and public-private partnerships - by converting these assets into programmable, SEC-compliant digital securities. The platform automates the full deal lifecycle: ownership issuance via digital tokens, capital contributions, smart-contract-driven distributions, compliance enforcement, and real-time reporting, all on a single shared system of record built on the Base (Coinbase) blockchain.
Plural's technology stack is vertically integrated across the regulatory spectrum. The company holds a Transfer Agent License (for on-chain ownership records) and, following its March 2025 acquisition of FINRA-member Northstar Financial Services LP (renamed Plural Brokerage LLC), now operates its own in-house broker-dealer. This gives Plural the ability to structure, issue, settle, and manage tokenized securities entirely in-house - a rare combination in the real-world asset (RWA) tokenization space. The platform supports investment structures under Reg D, Reg A, Reg CF, and other exemptions, serving institutional asset managers, private credit funds, RIAs, family offices, and retail investors alike. The company has set a target of tokenizing over $100 million in clean energy assets in 2025 and has already orchestrated $4B+ in capital through its team's history of managing large infrastructure portfolios.
Plural is significant to the US energy supply chain because it addresses a fundamental financing bottleneck: trillions of dollars in clean energy infrastructure - particularly smaller and mid-sized distributed projects like community solar, microgrids, and biofuel facilities - have historically been unable to access institutional capital markets. By digitizing ownership and automating compliance, Plural dramatically lowers the cost and complexity of raising capital for these projects, accelerating deployment of renewable energy capacity. Its programmable infrastructure model, which embeds deal logic into smart contracts, also enables new electricity sales and energy contract structures (such as automated settlement and hedging for variable delivery), positioning the company as a foundational layer for the emerging "electron economy" where energy production, transmission, and storage become investable at scale.
