Infinium
Infinium is a Sacramento, CA-based clean energy company and the world's first commercial-scale producer of ultra-low carbon electrofuels (eFuels). Through its Infinium Energy™ platform, the company converts waste CO₂ emissions and green hydrogen into drop-in synthetic alternatives to conventional fuels and chemicals - including sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF), eDiesel, and eNaphtha - using proprietary Power-to-Liquids (PtL) technology and patented catalysts. Its products are fully compatible with existing transportation infrastructure (planes, ships, trucks) and can reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by over 90% compared to fossil-based fuels. Infinium also operates a gas conversion platform (expanded via its 2025 acquisition of Greyrock Technology) that monetizes flare gas and renewable natural gas, giving the company a portfolio of over 250 patents worldwide.
Infinium is the operator of Project Pathfinder - the world's first operational commercial-scale eFuels facility, located in North America - which has already delivered eFuels to customers in both the United States and Europe. The company is now scaling up with Project Roadrunner, a large-scale eFuels and eSAF production facility under construction in Texas, which secured project financing from HSBC. Industry leaders including Amazon, American Airlines, Borealis, and IAG (British Airways parent) are active customers, and Infinium has signed a 10-year eSAF purchase agreement with IAG. In April 2026, Infinium's Project Atlas was selected by the Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance for next-generation SAF procurement, with American Airlines set to take physical delivery of eSAF beginning in 2029.
Infinium is a critical node in the US energy supply chain's decarbonization effort, addressing the hardest-to-abate transportation sectors - aviation and shipping - which together account for more than 25% of global CO₂ emissions. By offering end-to-end solutions including technology licenses, proprietary equipment, and catalysts, Infinium enables both domestic fuel production and technology export globally. The company has expanded into Southeast Asia and Japan through licensing partnerships, and recently launched Infinium Edge™ - an immersion cooling platform for AI data centers - leveraging its chemistry and engineering expertise. Recognized as #1 on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies in Sustainability for 2025 and featured on TIME's Top GreenTech Companies list, Infinium is emerging as one of the most consequential clean fuels companies in the world.
